Answer #1

Solution) (1) V1 = V

V2 = 3V

Q1 = Q

Q2 = ?

Q = CV

(Q2/Q1) = (V2/V1)

Q2 = Q1(3V/V) = 3Q1

Q2 = 3(Q1)

(b) C1 = C

C2 = 2C

U1 = U

U2 = ?

U = (1/2)(C)(V^2)

U is directly proportional to C

(U2/U1) = (C2/C1)

U2 = (U1)(C2/C1) = (U)(2C/C)

U2 = 2U
