1) DG = -nFEcell

DG = 70.1 kj

n = no of electrons transfered = 2

F = faraday = 96500 c

Ecell = cell potential = ?

70.1*10^3 = -2*96500*x

x = Ecell = -0.363 V

answer: Ecell = -0.363 V

as DG is +ve for the forward reaction. so that, it is non spontaneous.where as the backward reaction is spontaneous.

answer: spontaneous in reverse direction.

2) DG = -nFEcell

DG = - 70.1 kj

Ecell = cell potential = ?

- 70.1*10^3 = -2*96500*x

x = Ecell = 0.363 V

answer: Ecell = 0.363 V
