Difference between Legislation & Regulation:

  • Government or Government body places legislation on particular section which has rights to pass laws & that must be followed by that particular section. Whereas regulations should be followed to support or to successfully implement that Law.
  • Legislation is for a particular section of people or industry & considered wide in scope, while regulation is law specific.
  • Legislation are mostly generated generally by Government, while regulations are not country specific, tehy may be external, but are important to follow in order to comply with the Laws made.
  • Legislation may be proposed by head in Government whereas regulations are simple implications that need to followed & government interference is not necessary.
