Answer: The Prazosin belongs to the class of drug alpha blocker. The Prazosin is used in the treatment of hypertension. The action of the drug is that it works by relaxing the blood vessels which reduces the pressure of the blood. It dilates the blood vessels and decreases the blood pressure.

The some of side effects are:

  • dizziness
  • Headache
  • Weakness
  • Lethargy
  • Drowsiness.

The nursing consideration include:

  • This drug could cause fainting, so Nurse should monitor the patient upto 35 minutes of drug Administration.
  • Nurse should monitor the heart rate of the patient.
  • Nurse should keep patient hydrated.
