This is based on torque principle,

The net torque about an axis through the contact point between the tray and the thumb:

F * 0.04 = 0.28 * 9.8 * 0.32 + 1 * 9.8 * 0.18 + 0.11 * 9.8 * 0.14

solve for F, we get

F = 69.825 N (upwards)

Now, to find T

the net torque about an axis through the point of contact between the tray and the finger:

T * 0.04 = 0.28 * 9.8 * 0.28 + 1 * 9.8 * 0.14 + 0.11 * 9.8 * 0.10

T = 56.2 N (downwards)
