The total cost of harvasting is cost of inputs put together in terms of either input employed or output harvested. Let the number of person harvasting is given by L and the output they harvest is Q boxes per day. Therefore, the total cost functions in terms of Q or Lis

  1. TC=50L
  2. TC=2Q

The production function will establish a clear understanding of the relations between Q and L, so that both cost functions can interchangeably used in terms of either Q or L
