A factory makes combinations of ice chests and bicydle helmets by the numbers below. coolers 0 21 36 45 48 helmets 12 1)Going from A to 8 means 21 more coolers and 3 less helmets, which equals a ratio of 7:1. 2)Going from B to C means IS more coolers and 3 less helmets, which equals a ratio of 5:1 3)Going from C to D means more coolers and 3 less helmets, which equals a ratio of 3 :1. 4)Going from D to E means 3 more coolers and 3 less helmets, which equals a ratio of L:1. (hint: writing these ratios betweenABCDEIs helpful) 5) Cokrsare easier to make or, in other words, are more abundant. Hence the other (less numerous) product helestsis more difficult to make. 6)If coolers sell for $5 and helmets 30, then 1 helmet costs as much as ooolers and B is the production goal worth the most money. (at B this ratio fits between 7:1 and 5:1) 7)If coolers sell for $7 each and helmets 70, then 1 helmet costs as much as 10 coolers and letter is best. 8)If coolers sell for $12 each and helmets 24, then 1 helmet costs as much as3 coolers and letter D is best. 9)If coolers sell for $10 each and helmets 40, then 1 helmet costs as much as coolers and letter L is best. 10)If coolers sell for $20 each and helmetsh16, then 1 helmet costs as much as .8 of a cooler and letter Eis best. If a pair is located at a same point, say 36 coolers & 6 helmets, or space, say 25 & 8, then such a pair is efficient. If both of the pair does not share the same gap or the same point then the pair is not efficient. If the two numbers of a pair are NOT at the same point or gap and staggered toward their zeroes, say 35 & 5, then such is inefficient. If a pair is not located at the same point or gap and staggers to their maximums, say 37 & 7, then such is outside current capacity. 1 & 10 is efficient, even if this pair is staggered both numbers are located in the same AB gap 38&8out 12)25 & 10 eff 45 & 2 ineff 11)21 & 9 eff 14)13 & 7- 15)47 &0 16)40 &8 7)40 &5 18)0 & 11 19)37 & 7 20)5 & 10 13)47 & 2 Out answers jumbled: A C coolers D E eff eff eff eff helmets ineff ineff ineff out out out .8 1 2 3 3 569 10 15

Answer #1

The blanks (1to 4) are filled correctly, with regards to ratio and combinations.

5) is also correct as more collers are produced with all resources than helmets.

6) is also right.

In 7) the most worth point is that point where the following combination is met -

Price per helmet / price per cooler= marginal rate of substitution (which are ratios calculated).

Now, Price per helmet/ price per cooler= 70/7 = 10

as there is no 10/1 ratio but it is more near to point A. thus point A is correct. as combination A gives more revenue than B with given prices.

8 to 10 are correct.

14) is ineffiecint as with 7 helmets, more than 21 coolers.

15) Inefficeint.

16) Out. with 40 coolers, less than 5 can be produced of helmet.

17) Out. only 39 coollers can be produced with 5 helmets

18) Inefficient. with 0 coolers, 12 helmets can be produced.

19) Out

20) Inefficient. 14 coolers can be produced with 10 helmets
