Answer #1

Answer : The answer is option A.

For university the total MB = MB of Cynthia + MB of Shirley = (40 - 4Q) + (20 - 2Q) = 40 - 4Q + 20 - 2Q

=> Total MB = 60 - 6Q

MC = 12 (Given).

At optimal output level MB = MC occur. So,

60 - 6Q = 12

=> 60 - 12 = 6Q

=> 6Q = 48

=> Q = 48 / 6

=> Q = 8

Therefore, option A is correct.
