Answer: This is an image of a fetus which can be seen through the ultrasound. This is related to pregnancy and laction chapter as this image id of fetus that is in the growing stage. Formation of the fetus takes place in the uterus of women. The conception takes place when the sperm gets attached to the egg to complete the genetic make-up of a human fetus. Within three days later, the fertilized egg cell divides and then through the Fallopian tube goes into the uterus, where it gets attaches to the uterine wall. The attachment provides nourishment to the developing fetus and becomes the placenta.
Within the 4 weeks, the common structures of the fetus starts to develop into separate areas that will form the head, chest, abdomen, and the organs that are contained within them. Slowly this development enhances as the time pass. At 24 weeks, the baby starts to respond to sounds. Doppler studies show the sound response by measuring movement and heartbeat rates.The development of full fetus takes 9 months. In the last month of pregnancy baby's bones are soft but fully formed, the eyes can open and close and movements and kicking increases. In this stage only the lungs are formed but not fully developed, where as body starts to store essential nutrients.
