A group of students were administered two IQ tests. One was based on language and meant to measure their “verbal IQ.” The other contained problem solving with numbers and puzzle exercises with little verbal content – it was meant to measure their “performance IQ.” Scores on the tests were:

Verbal IQ                          Performance IQ

90                                       92

105                                     115

95                                       98

93                                       103

92                                       99

96                                       95

Use the appropriate t-test model to test the null hypothesis that verbal and performance are the same for the population of students.

Use a one-tailed test at the 0.05 level of significance.
