Atherosclerosis refers to the hardening of arteries,where the development of plaque occurs on the walls of arteries, leading to the partial blockage and hence reducing the blood flow and hampering the normal working of the circulatory system. The plaque is consist of majorly fats like cholesterol, macrophases and calcium. the functioning of the arteries which carry the oxygen rich blood to the parts of heart and the body is affected. This can further lead to the stroke & the heart attack.

Symptoms include difficulty in breating, chest pain, weakness headache and faical numbness.

Teatment include medication as wellas surgical interventions.
