Quality control is process or system of defining and maintaining set of standards for product or service by testing product or analysing services to ensure that product or service meets quality requirements. Main aim of quality control is to ensure business is achieving growth within quality standards.

Quality Control does not add anything to the product.

Greater the quality controll measure higher is the cost of the product and vice versa.

Quality controlls only assures that product delivered to customer will serve to the customers needs.

Thus Quality control function is non value added area

Quality control involves setting up standards about how much variation in process or in production are acceptable. The aim is to ensure that a product is manufactured, or a service is provided, to meet expected specifications which ensure customer needs are met

Quality control can be achieved through audit, inspection or testing. For example, in quality auditor examine set of processes to deliver key services to stake holders.
