Answer #1

fat foods are in dinner and lunch contain ham and the steak both are red meat which  contain bad cholesterol /saturated fat wheras salmon is a fish having polyunsaturated fat and omega 3 fatty acids needed for good cardiac health. Moreover the M diet is full of fruits veggies and fibres from whole grain food which means the food is not processed.A processed food is full of unsaturated fats and preservatives.responsible for IHD

Butter is also saturated fat which is responsible for ischemic heart diseases and deranged lipid profile

So Med diet is much healthier than the other one.

We should know that we can not totally curtail the fat in our diet. It is also required for our nutrition and metabolism. There are different types of fat available for our food we have to select from them specially to maintain a good lipid profilre and a healthy cardiovascular activity

  • Though we have to go for low fat diet but still if we have to select, food rich in unsaturated fats meaning mono and poly unsaturated fats should be selected .Vegetable oil like olive oil(best) sunflower oil etc rather than butter .Also we should eat nuts and fish. Fish is also a very good source of omega 3 fatty acid and poly unsaturated fats which help in maintain heart health blood pressure etc.
  • We have to avoid saturated fat and trans fat which are bad fat. These trans fat are present in processed food and cause increased risk for ischemic heart disease.Food rich in saturated fat are palm oil,red meat, butter etc which should be avoided.we should go for animal proteins like chickens as red meat contain high salt content and saturated fat.But instead we can go for lean meat and lentil (low salt, good protein source)
  • Here chicken is there in minnestrone soup which is better than steak or ham and the reason already explained
