Could someone show me where I am going wrong in this thermodynamics problem that I got marked wrong?

1 L•atm = 101.325 J

A gas expands from 30 L to 50 L against a constant pressure of 1 atm. What is the calculated value for work in Joules? Report your answer in kJ to the nearest whole number.

Ok so here is what I did:

w = -PΔV

w=(50-30)*-1

w=-20 L*atm =101.325*-20 =-2026.5 J

=-2.0265 kJ which goes to -2 when rounded to a whole number right?

Answer #1

note : you solved the problem correctly. everything is perfect. small confusion in the problem itself . lets see once the problem . it is

'' What is the calculated value for work in Joules? Report your answer in kJ to the nearest whole number''.

initially it is asking in jouls but in report it is asking again in kJ . mistakenly it is printed kJ instead of J .

so answer should be : - 2026 J.

please check now and let me know status of the answer
