Sales is not actually increased by 20 % from 2018 to 2019 but increased by 10 %

Inflation impact:

Due to inflation, raw material cost increases which affects the cost of goods sold and sales price also increase with the same proportion. In terms of value , inflation affected the sales by 10 %. i.e 10 % of $100,000 is $10,000

Sales change impact:

Sales change impact is 10 % i.e 10% of $100,000 is $10,000 , it represent the actual sales changes in terms of units or performance. For measuring the company performance, sales change impact is considered not inflation impact.
