Answer #1

Answer: At this age body doesn't work as efficiently as in the younger age. At the age of 68, body needs proper nutrients to maintain the body functions. There should be less or low intake of saturated fats, which may increase the cholesterol level. Patients at this age with type 2 diabetes should be much concerned about their health and what food they eat.

Intake of protein should be sufficient which maintains the integrity of the cells and body. Omega fatty acids are very beneficial at this stage. It also reduces the accumulation of cholesterol and hence keeps heart healthy. Calcium is necessary for women as dietary products such as milk can be a good source of calcium. Intake of white part of the egg daily provides sufficient protein the body needs. Drinking maximum water can also helps to flush out the toxin as well as keeps the body hydrated. Vitamin D which can be naturally obtained from the sun, helps the body to repair the cells, makes bone strong etc.
