Answer: Gestational diabetes should be managed with the help of proper diet. The dietary recommendations for women with gestational diabetes includes the intake of carbohydrate according to the weight and daily activities. The pregnant women should mainly increase the calorie intake near about 300 calories per day. The increase intake of vegetables, fruits as well as protein should be managed. Foods that contains high sugar should be avoided. Eating balanced diet can reduce risk of increased sugar level in the blood.

The proportion of daily calorie intake assigned to meals and snacks 300 calories includes 30- 45 grams and in the case of snacks there should be 15- 30 gram of carbohydrate.
