I need help with question 1 and 2, can anyone help me please.

1. steel wire is used to attach a balloon on a solar panel boom so that the actuators can be tested. Actuators are the devices that re used to extend the panels from their slowed position during launch to their final extended on- orbit configuration. The balloon must be filled with Helium gas such that the weight of the panels is balanced. Solar panels and their booms are not built to withstand gravity, and therefore weight is minimized in their design. The are made from carbon epoxy composites, for example. Suppose we have a 5 cm diameter tube that hen extended measures 6 meters and that the tube has a thickness of 2 mm. The tube has a mass of 3.4 kg. The shear strength is 90 MPa. The helium balloon is inflated to 3 meters and is attached onto the end of the tube, such that all forces are distributed evenly. The other end of the tube is fixed to the spacecraft and doesn't move. Assume that the high bay is at 60 F.

A) what is the shear strain? Does the tube break?

B) now consider the wire. It is half a millimeter thick, and 2 meters long. Will the wire break?

2. Suppose the air condition in the high bay in problem 1 has broken done. This in turn leads to a temperature increase of 35 F. How has this affected the size of the balloon, it is buoyancy, and it is position change from the floor. Assume that the linear coefficient of thermal expansion for the balloon material is 160 microns/m Kelvin.
