12.The parts of the prescription are

  • The information about the prescriber with date
  • The information about the patient and the medical diagnosis
  • Inscription about what is the problem of patient
  • Superscription describes about what medication to be issued
  • Signatura is the information provided to the patient in regards to the medication regimen
  • Refills to move mentioned
  • Sign of the provider

13.Allied health professionals are not given the rights to sign on the prescription pad because their education does not cover pharmacology in detail as for doctors.Moreover it is not in their scope of practice. They are supposed to carry only the orders and not provide orders.

14.A signed blank prescription pad when left for a medical assistant can always pose a threat for malpractice or misuse without guidance. It can be followed if the organization as a policy and protocol by a medical assistant. Otherwise after the medical assistant prescribes it is counter checked by the concerned physician and then signed.
