6. Standing Order :-

A "standing order" is a prewritten medication order and specific instructions from the licensed independent practitioner to administer a medication to a person in clearly defined circumstances.

Standing orders are written protocols that authorize designated members of the health care team (e.g., nurses or medical assistants) to complete certain clinical tasks without having to first obtain a physician order

7. A standard protocol is a mandated, fixed procedure for completing a task. Often designated by flow chart or spelled out in textual steps. Protocol writing allows to review and critically evaluate the steps and serves as a guide to make any changes .

8. Basically allied health professionals does not have some specific or particular responsibility related to medications prescription because it is not their role . But in some states they are given the role to make prescription ,check the medicine , assist the physician etc .

9. The list of six parts of medication order are :-

- Clients name to ensure the patient to whom the medication has to be given .

- Date and time order is written to keep in record when the medicine was started at what time and according to which when it needs to be stopped .

- Name of drug to be given to ensure which drug has to be given

- Dosage of the drug ,dose is very important according to the weight and height of the patient the dose is prescribed

Route of administration - through which route the medication has to be given

Frequency of administration - how many times a day the medication has to be given

Signature of person writing order - very important that who has written the order ,so that in case any issues comes then the prescribed physician can be called .
