Karl Marx holds a surprisingly significant amount of relevance today. Class conflict was made clearly apparent during the financial crises with the walks on wall street. Mitt Romney’s election run was arguably wounded by his statements about 47% creating an impression of class superiority. Conflict theory is the core struggle between corporations and employees. A corporation must profit on work product, and therefore must always pay less than what is produced. This theory can be applied today if there is focus on proper transparency with distribution of resources. Employees could be aware before departments are shut down and why. Information can increase equality and decrease exploitation of employees.
Karl Marx recognized the class conflict and proposed that there should be equality and more powers should be shifted towards the workers. Though, it hinders the economic growth and both the parties as corporation and workers suffer. In this regard, it is well advised to build a transparent system to sharing information and create better opportunities for employees and workers to grow with better pay packages even if it comes with higher profitability and corporations grows more. As a result, inequality will grow, but employees and workers will also grow and bring quality to their life, healthcare, education to their families and society at large. It is the way to grow and bridge the inequality n long run when the generation changes. Further, stakeholder theory should be prescribed mandatorily by the government, so that corporation will not act only for the owners, rather it will work for the best interests of all the stakeholders such as employees, customers, suppliers, regulators and environment with communities. It will bring overall development to society at large. It will make life better for workers, rather going to fight against corporations and getting lesser opportunities of work. It has already been seen in the former USSR later on and its disintegration.
