A small number of genes in the unnamed virus appear similar to hepatitis C virus. When doctors expose animals that had been injected with a hepatitis C vaccine to the unnamed virus, their blood shows a strong immune reaction to the unnamed virus (using a latex agglutination test). The blood of unvaccinated animals shows no reaction to the same test. What does this suggest about the shared genes?

Answer #1

Answer :

Hepatitis is a inflammation of liver characterized by presence of virus which can cause the symptoms .

Hepatitis C is a contagious viral disease of liver caused by HCV virus .

In above question :

Hepatitis C vaccine provides immunity against the hepatitis C virus .

If the vaccinated persons body attacked with hepatitis C virus , it provides natural immunity to the body to act against hepatitis C virus and help the people to protect themselves from infection .

In above question , initially people are injected unnamed virus which they are already vaccinated with hepatitis C vaccine , here people already have immunity against with hepatitis C. So they got immune reaction .

Rationale : already immuned cells perceived the unnamed virus as forein cells ,so person had the immune reaction.

In second : people have no vaccination with hepatitis C ,so there is no antibodies in the persons body to fight with unnamed virus , so there is no immune reaction.
