The Unemployment levels were highest ever in US during Great depression and shrinking of money supply exacerbated the Depression effects which plunged GDP and abolished gold standard system. This caused multiplier effects on Germany and Japan as multiple companies had exposure to US banks which went bankrupt and triggerred spreading of effects across Scandinavian nations which saw GDp reductiin by 15 to 40 percent and an average of 33 percent deflation in Germany, Japan and UK.

This entire phenomenon alongwith Japanese expansion and Hitlers and Mussolinis excessive invasion triggered World War II.

Largely the US could not easily recover from Great depression because of inefficient policy of Herbert Hoover and then political instability after election of Franklin Roosevelt as president of US who too failed to revive due to bad economic policy.

Japan and Germany started their territorial expansion and firmed Allies and signed treaty of Versailles which further propelled World War II.
