Answer #1

Before maturation to poly lobulated neutrophil, myelocytes and meta myelocytes are the precursor stages. Band form is also the form of neutro which comes when in urgent and quick preparation of neutrophil needed in body say infection when bone marrow has to produce them in numbers much greater than normal, structure of nucleus become straightened like a band or ribbon instead of lobulated(neutrophil fight infection) when released in peripheral circulation. So in sepsis we frequently found band form

So 20% are immature neutrophil

So 54% is total neutro

I/T= 20 in 100 means in 16000 it will be 20x16000÷100=3200

Similarly54 %in 160000 =54x16000÷100=3780

3200÷3780=0.8465

Rounding to 0.8(one decimal place)

Now as it is not greater than 0.8 as is told in the clue therefore . suspicion is present for infection .

Segmented are mature neutrophil

answer the question and write the rationale in your own words The nurse is reviewing the white blood cell (WBC) count and differential on a client and notes that the results indicate a left shift. What are the possible indications for these laboratory results? Select all that apply. Rationale: The differential count reflects the percentage of the total number of WBCs. A left shift indicates an increased number of immature neutrophils, or an increased number of bands. This signals the...
