What advocacy behaviors do students envision themselves taking for patients without access to health care and why?

Students have their own professional ethical responsibilities and obligation towards the patient's care. Lack of access to health care will create a burden on students in providing of services and protect the patient's rights. The nursing management and plan of care will be complicated to implement. The nurses need to study more on health policies issues to resolve the problems related to access to health care services. Increased evaluation of professional related behavior. Applying of Evidenced-based practice become critical. The standard of practice and code of ethics will be certainly difficult to follow. The nurses become unable to collaborate with other healthcare professional due lack of access to care. The nursing education become an integral part to make awareness of lack of access to health care.

In looking at what the future holds for healthcare and our discussions on the use of Telemedicine, Medical Home, Concierge Medicine, and wearable technology, what do you think feels like the most important futuristic idea that will enhance our health care system and why?

Today, telemedicine play an important part in the healthcare system. Telemedicine is used in all medical fields in treating the medical condition. It is used widely in treating chronic disease and to improve the healthy behavior of the patient. It provides wide access to care in remote areas. Wearable technology is an ideal thing for the vulnerable population in monitoring and early detection of health risks. It not only help to treat the disease but also helps for preventive care. Concierge medicine provides 24hours medical services, mobile technology, which is more comfortable for the patient and is time-saving. In the future, the technology becomes widely used across all over countries. It delivers health care effectively and efficiently to patients. Robotic surgery becomes popularized. Technology advances and continues in patient care.

How will the aging of the Baby Boomers affect your future practice in Healthcare?

According to AMA, the elder above 65 years of age will increase by 73% in 2030. In the future, health care providers have ready to treat an increased number of vulnerable population. Besides, the chronic disease of hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol increases in the aging population. This will increase the challenges and stress in the healthcare system. The healthcare providers need to be more powerful and skilled in providing health care services. There will need a change in health care policy and reimbursement models. The mobile health and patient-centered medical home will be increased. There will be an increased need for healthcare professional and rise of healthcare cost. There will be a demand for healthcare specialist as the aging is accompanied with multiple health conditions.
