I believe students attending daily to the class has several benefits and it is important for the students not to miss classes.

The students may miss the classes due to many reasons. Some students do not attend school due to family responsibilities or illness. Some may stay away from school to get rid of harassment, bullying etc. some families or parents do not understand the value of education and do not force the children to go school regularly.

When the student attend classes daily, they can keep up with the lessons taught daily and the related assignments, and also can take tests on time. The mathematics classes may be continuation of yesterday’s class and if the student was absent yesterday, he will not be able to follow today’s class also. This end up as double work for him.

They learn more about scholarship opportunities as well as to take important tests and assessments to keep the academic record rewarding. Being in the campus regularly will give information to the students on the scholarship or talent tests that will be helpful for them in the future.

They can master the skills of language as they use it regularly in a class room setting. A student who is weak in English , can master the language with the class room usage, peer help and teacher supervision.

The student learns to behave in the school and it is how they learn to behave in a society. They learn a broader view of the world and learn social skills. The students remain with so many other students who are coming from different families, cultures , beliefs etc.. and all of them share friendship and mutual helping behaviors in spite of all the differences.

Students who miss classes for weeks or months, it is difficult to catch up with regularly attending students and this leads to difficulty in passing the year or the course sometimes.

Learning is a continuous and dynamic activity. The student who is not attending the class and doing reading by self and completing assignments alone, misses a lot more a class can offer. These are the discussions and deriving multiple ideas from multiple brains, supervised drills, brainstorming, getting the view of the teacher or a friend, competency gained through the experiences etc.

The mode of teaching and types of teaching activities and method of teaching may vary with each subject and topic like discussions, demonstrations, experiments etc. the student who won’t attend the class will be missing all these. There will be model demonstrations, and also activities involving the students. The participation in such classroom activities play an important role in the learning speed and success of the student.during such activities, they understand more about their capabilities like leadership skills, communication skills, language delivery skills etc.

Students who are attending classes regularly are proven to be showing good academic performance. Absence from class room activities is the major cause for poor academic performance and failure to complete the course.

Students who attend regularly are able to build a healthy bond between peers as well as teachers. This enhances the academic performance as well as psychological well being. The students who regularly attend classes will be able to make friends and share their problems, hear the other ones and also help to solve the problems.

The regularity in attending classes build a sense of order in their behavior and they learn how to behave and live in a controlled environment. They learn discipline and to behave in a group. They learn how to be punctual in all their activities. They learn to manage time and submit their work on time. These all will aid them to adjust to employment or office cultures in the future.

When the students don’t attend classes regularly, they may have a tendency to hide away from assignments and studies, and this may affect their academic performance. Also they have very less supervisory help and peer group assistance to help them improve.

When the performance is low, and they are not able to cope with the more work or subjects to study, they may opt to drop out of school, thinking it is a difficult thing to continue studying.

Rarely, students who are highly motivated and having a life goal, will succeed without attending classes regularly.

When students do not attend the classes and roam around freely, they may find un necessary friend groups like anti social gang etc. Also there are high chance of such students may get addicted to substance abuse or illegal activities.

The family has to be involved in the student’s educational activities and regular parent teacher contacts and discussions has proven to be best cause for the best results of children. In case absence from class is noted by the teacher, it has to be informed to the parents and regular follow up need s to be done. Also the counseling sessions for the students and their parents are to be done.
