This is one of the most easy and commonest knee pain .The main muscle found here is Hamstring complex and Gastrocnemius (starting from knee and ending at heel.The injury at this site are easier resulting in posterior medial right knee pain.

Etiology:

  • Any injury to the tendon,ligament medial meniscal area ,bursa can cause the pain
  • Nerve injury
  • Circulatory problems like deep vein thrombosis p

Risk factors:

  • Sports
  • Old age
  • Direct injury on knee

Signs and symptoms

  • Pain
  • Inability to walk
  • Weakness

Diagnosis

  • Observation
  • Knee X ray
  • History collection

Management:

  • Analgesics to relieve pain
  • Encourgq patient to take rest
  • Ice application can decrease pain
  • Elevation to prevent edema
  • Encourage to do exercise (Hamstring strengthening exercise )
