Let X is a random variable shows the number of meter until one expired. Here X has geometric distribution with parameter p =0.24. Here first we need to find the probability that meter is expired before or at third. Then we need to take complement of calculated probability.

So the required probability is

P(X > 3)-1-P(X < 3-1-Σ(1-0.24)3-1 . 0.24-0.56 1024

Answer: 0.5610
