Range of the 12-pounder field gun = Horizontal velocity x time of flight.

Here. Horizontal velocity = 437 m/s.

And, time of flight (T) = 2 (3.91) = 7.82 sec.

So. Horizontal range = (437) (7.837.2) = 3417.34 m = 3.417 km
