Percentage error in the iron pill is 1. so it is quite less if we compare that in some of the situations the error comes near about 10 or 15 percent.

Percentage error can be reduced by improving the accuracy as well as precision.

Sometimes the weighing machine is not calibrated well so due to which error may come so we have to first standardize that one.also in some cases the error is manual error or handling error due to the incorrect handling of the reagents used.

lets take an example if we are using NaOH pallets then use as early as possible as they are hygroscopic so they catches water that may lead to error in the measurement.

So use standardize equipment ( Equipment error) , handle the reagents with care, use the accurate quantity of reagents, check for the time of the reaction properly - monitor the reaction well , do not make mistakes in calculations ( human error ) so these are some of the steps we can follow to maintain less error .
