  • If phenolphthalein is colorless, it means the pH is below 8.0
  • If thymol blue is yellow, it means the pH is above 2.8 and below 8.2. Since phenolphthaleine was colorless, the range would be between 2.8 and 8.0
  • If methyl violet is violent, the pH is above 2.0, but we know it actually has to be above 2.8, because of the yellow thymol blue.

Overall, we can say that the pH is between 2.8 and 8.0.
