Answer #1

5) For principle quantum number (n), azimuthal quantum number (l) lie from 0 to (n-1) and orbital quantum number lie from -l to +l. Spin can be +1/2 or -1/2

a) Allowed.

b) Not allowed. Because if n = 1 then l can only be 0 and not 2.

c) Allowed.

d) Not allowed. Because n= 3 for which l can be 0,1,2. But here l = 3 which is not possible.

6) For n=5, l = 0,1,2,3,4

Thus five l values means five subshells.

Answer is 5.
