Answer #1

15 )

When Cobalt (II) chloride is combined with iron (III) nitrate possible products are Cobalt (II) nitrate and iron (III) chloride. Both products are ionic compounds & they are present in the form of ions in the solution. Both reactants are also ionic ionic compounds & they are present in the form of ions in the solution. We get same ions before & after reaction, hence we can assume, there is no reaction.

CoCl 2 (aq) + Fe (NO3) 3 (aq) \rightarrow No reaction

16) When potassium phosphate & Chromium ( III ) chloride are combined , we get two possible products one is Chromium (III) phosphate & potassium chloride. Chromium (III) phosphate is insoluble compound in water. Hence, we in this case reaction occurs.

Molecular equation : K3PO4 (aq) + CrCl 3 (aq) \rightarrow CrPO 4 (s) + 3 KCl (aq)

Net ionic equation : Cr 3+ (aq) + PO 43- (aq)  \rightarrow CrPO 4 (s)

17 ) When silver nitrate is combined with Barium (II) chloride reaction is possible. we get insoluble AgCl and Barium (II) nitrate .

Molecular equation : 2 AgNO3 (aq) + BaCl 2 (aq) \rightarrow 2 AgCl(s) +Ba(NO3) 2 (aq)

Net ionic equation : Ag + (aq) + Cl - (aq)  \rightarrow AgCl(s)
