Answer #1

Ans)Evaluation is a process that critically examines a program. It involves collecting and analyzing information about a program's activities, characteristics, and outcomes. Its purpose is to make judgments about a program, to improve its effectiveness, and/or to inform programming decisions.

- Evaluation helps to build an educational programme, assess its achievements and improve upon its effectiveness. It serves as an in-built monitor within the programme to review the progress in learning from time to time. It also provides valuable feedback on the design and the implementation of the programme.

- The reasons why it is important to evaluate learning activities are:

• To see what is working and what needs removing or changing.

• Spending time going through the learning activities and seeing how students have responded to a certain task or question, can really help re-shape it for future classes.

- Methods include student feedback, self evaluation, peer observation, viewing a videotape of your teaching, and consultation with a CRLT staff member.
