Answer(3): Stakeholders- Are the persons that have direct or indirect impact on company. They are related to the company in anyway. Stakeholders are:

  1. Customers
  2. Shareholders
  3. Creditors
  4. Employees
  5. Government
  6. General Public

All stakeholders are very important but Customers are the most important stakeholder in my view. Customer is King. Company's 70% business comes from existing customers and existing customers bring new customers by word of mouth or other feedback. Employees are also very important part of company as they work day and night for achieving the goals.

Answer(4): Structure of the finance functions affect the financial management in many ways. Financial management is the financial process of business that includes planning, organizing, evaluating, controlling the financial items of business. Financial functions include capital budgeting decision, capital structure, Investment decision, financing decision etc. While taking the finance decision whether a company should issue shares or should borrow money is a crucial decision, that affect the management of finance as it include cost of capital that needs to be calculated and compared. Decision related to approval of project also affect the financial management as it includes calculation of Net present value and also two or more alternatives are compared. So in many ways, functions of finance affect the financial management.

Answer(6): Yes, CFO deals with many conflicts among the key people of the company related to finance. Functions of finance include capital budgeting, capital structure, dividend decision, liquidity decisions etc. In these important decisions, sometime conflict arises between the CFO and other key people's view. On some aspects, CFO may be agree but CEO may not.

Answer(8): My first five actions will be:

  1. Managing the financial functions and structure of finance.
  2. Providing leadership, direction and strategic advice and recommendations to the key people of the company.
  3. Looking after Capital budgeting, capital structure and financial management decisions closely.
  4. Analyzing company's financial strength, liquidity and financial position.
  5. Assisting the CEO and other key people for cash inflow, cash outflow, financial forecast and financial strategies.
