Jeremiah is a qualified mental health nurse from the United Kingdom and has recently moved to Melbourne, Australia, to begin his new role as regional mental health nursing manager for a not-for-profit organisation. Jeremiah has been provided with a comprehensive role and responsibilities statement and completed an internal induction program. He is concerned, however, that the compliance requirements he followed in the UK are different from the requirements outlined in Australian legislation and he is not familiar with some of the terminology. During Jeremiah’s first week on the job he is required to respond to a critical incident where a service user physically harassed and assaulted Sonia, a support worker employed by Jeremiah, during a home visit. Jeremiah must respond to the critical incident immediately.

- Describe how Jeremiah could assess and act on the need for specialist legal advice relating to the critical incident described.

- Describe one risk that Jeremiah needs to manage in this situation.

Ans: Jeremiah is a qualified mental health nurse that means it should have particular knowledge about its work, as it describe that Jeremiah study from united kingdom and get a job in Melbourne, Australia but there is some different terminology in Australia, which Jeremiah doesn't known but instead of that Jeremiah have a primary knowledge of managing mental patient so Jeremiah find difficulty in acting on the need for specialist legal advice but she could manage as she having primary knowledge of particular terminology in handling the mental patient.

Jeremiah is fresher and find difficulty in acting on the need of specialist then she could take the help of senior nurse,who help in managing the patient and help in doing that terminology which she doesn't know.

Ans: Jeremiah having a knowledge of that terminology which she learnt in united kingdom but she doesn't know about some terminology which is differ and used in Melbourne, Australia, that's why in a critical situation ,it is a risk for fresher Jeremiah to manage that situation.To Overcome that situation, Jeremiah should worked with other senior nurse until she doesn't learnt about remaining terminology which he doesn't known.After learning about terminology she should manage any critical situation.
