As a manager I would pick Electronic health record systems. EHR is a digital version of patient health records that replaces storing of traditional paper charts.

Benefits:

1)The components of EHR includes :

a) Patient Data : Unique ID, demographics, insurance claimed, contact details.

b) Clinical data : medical records, nursing charts, medication records, intake and output chart

EHR provides all baseline data about patient and it can be access anytime.

2) EHR can be stored easily .

3) Entering EMR code of the patient will help us to locate patient data without wasting of time.

4) EHR encoded with Electronic medical record ease the drug administration and reduces medication errors.

Positive scenario:

The nurse practitioner about to administer medication for a patient scanned bar code on the wrist band of the patient gain access to digital medication slip. All 7 rights of medication is checked using digital prescription. This helps nurses to avoid medication errors like overdosing, wrong patient, wrong site, adverse reactions of drugs.

Negative of EHR:

The most common draw back in EHR is breeching privacy and confidentiality . Hacking of information technology is more commonly happening everywhere.
