The Na2S that we are using for this lab is a hydrated solid. That is, there are water molecules absorbed within the solid itself. You will be using 60% Na2S; 60% of the mass of this solid is Na2S and the other 40% is water. For example, if you have a 10 gram sample of Na2S (60%), 6 grams is Na2S and 4 grams is H2O.

a. You will be using 0.1 gram quantities of Na2S (60%) in this lab. In grams, how much of this sample is Na2S?

b. Using your answer to part a, calculate how many moles of Na2S are in a 0.1 gram sample of Na2S (60%).

In the laboratory you are asked to make a 0.264 m sodium sulfide solution using 525 grams of water. How many grams of sodium sulfide should you add? grams. I'm having a hard understanding which formula to uses in this question. molality vs Molarity I known that the molar mass of Na2S= 78.05 and that H20= 18.02 We are given 0.0264 mol of Na2s which is the concentration, which is what I am guessing in a mixed solution of 525...

As part of Lab 11 you will make and standardize a solution of NaOH(aq). Suppose in the lab you measure the solid NaOH and dissolve it into 100.0 mL of water. You then measure 0.1993 g of KHP (204.22 g/mol) and place it in a clean, dry 100-mL beaker, and then dissolve the KHP in about 25 mL of water and add a couple of drops of phenolphthalein indicator. You titrate this with your NaOH(aq) solution and find that the...
