Antimony(Sb) is a transition metal. Due to lanthanide effect the radius of the transitional metal atoms decreases with increase in atomic number because the valance shell electron feels higher effective nuclear charge compared to non transitional metals . On the other hand radius of transition metal cation decreases further compared to the neutral atom and anions due to increased nuclear charge on the cation. The higher the charge on the nucleus the lower will be the radius of the cation. So in this case Sb3+ will be the smallest one among them.
Identify the species that has the smallest radius. OSЬ- OSь OSЬ +3 P SЬ- Sb +1

which species is expected to have the smallest radius? Li2+ Li- Li+ Li
Electron radii problem. I thought that P(-3) would have the
smallest radius because it is the same as MG, but the answer key
says CA 2+ is the smallest. Can anyone explain this?
thanks.

3. The African Basin It is the smallest of the two extant species of African elephants, but still one of the largest living terrestrial animals. In 1950, the average height of male African forest elephant was 8.2 ft in height Researchers in the Congo Basin collected data on the heights of a random sample of 35 male African forest elephants to determine if the average height has changed. The sample mean height is 7.15 ft, with a standard deviation of...
