Karena sees that Mr. Ross is using accessory muscles to breathe and also notes his right lung is now without breath sounds in any anterior or posterior lung field. His left lung has wheezes throughout. 4. What action is Karena, RN, going to take next? A. Call Mr. Ross's doctor, and report the increased temperature, increased respiratory distress, and new changes including the absence of breath sounds to Mr. Ross' right lung field. B. Call Mr. Ross's doctor, and ask for an order for a sleeping pill to help him get some rest and a good night's sleep. C. Call Mr. Ross's doctor, and request a room humidifier and an increase in his oxygen liter flow as his current 3 L rate is producing a hypoxic results with a pulse ox of 89%. D. Call Mr. Ross's respiratory therapist and ask him/her to implement an albuterol treatment now, with wheezing in the left lung auscultated.

Mr. Ross has increased temperature, Trachepnea, labor breathing, Decrease saturation and the most important thing is there is no breath sound in the right lung.

According to the above signs and symptoms, there may be Pneumothorax, Hemothorax, Heart failure, Pleural effusion, and Emphysema. whatever may be the disease patient is in a very critical stage. Mr. ross needs immediate medical attention.

Sleeping pills can kill the patient because we have to treat the underlying condition of the disease. Increase humidifier and increase oxygen flow not going to work because there is no air entry to the right lung and very limited air entry to the left lungs. Albuterol drug is a bronchodilator that dilates bronchos, in this case, this drug not going to help because it can not treat the underlying disease.

So, the Karena, RN is should called Mr, Ross Dr and report increase temperature, increase Respiratory Distress, and new changes including absent breath sound to right lungs.
