a) when positive ball is taken away then induced charges in the conductors are also not there anymore and and if ground connection is removed then conductor remains neutral without any charge on it .

b) when ground connection is removed first then positive induced charges on conductor are grounded and then positive charge is taken away from conductor , we are finally left with induced charges on the conductor due to positive charge so finally conductor is negative
