What are the health consequences of alcohol abuse?

  • alcohol is a toxin and it greatly affects the body organs, especially the liver. drinking too much alcohol leads to cirrhosis (killing of liver cells).
  • it affects major organs of the body like heart damage. as drinking alcohol will result in a fatty liver condition that will increase the blood cholesterol level and the dangers of blood clots will lead to heart disease.
  • it also affects the communication level as the drunk person is not able to speak clearly.
  • anti-social behavior, financial loss are some of the consequences of alcohol abuse.

Do you think the legal drinking age should be lowered from 21 to 18 to reduce drinking problems in college? Why or why not?

no, i don't think so that if drinking age is lowered from 21 to 18 then it will reduce drinking problems in college because it will prompt more students and youths to try this leverage at once that might lead to unhealthy habits.
