the initial velocity , u = 5 m/s

the final velocity , v = - 4 m/s

time interval , t = 0.022 s

a)

the average force (in N) exerted on the ball by the bumper , F = impulse /time

F = m * ( v - u) /t

F = 0.23 * ( - 4 - 5)/0.022 N

F = - 94.1 N

b)

the kinetic energy lost , KE = KEi - KEf

KE = 0.5 * m * u^2 - 0.5 * m * v^2

KE = 0.5 * 0.23 * ( 5^2 - 4^2) J = 1.04 J

c)

the % energy left , % = KEf /KEi * 100

% = 0.5 * m * v^2 /(0.5 * m * v^2) * 100

% = 4^2 /5^2 * 100 = 64 %
