Periodontitis is one of the most common inflammation diseases mostly infect to the gums and supporting structures of the teeth and it was mainly caused by periodontal bacteria. The periodontal diagnostic test is useful to assess the periodontal health status, risks and requirement of future care and maintenance. The host based indications may differ from individual to individual and help to determine the seventy of the disease. Periodontal assessment is useful to detect active periodontal sites with the help of a probe. The complete evaluation helps to spot the active site and differentiates it from the inactive site by the presence of inflammation or bleeding.

Periodontal diagnostic tests are mostly host based and help to evaluate the need of aggressive periodontal treatment basing on the symptoms, periodontal active disease sites, inflammation and bleeding. The risk factors may differ from others and therefore, host based evaluation is required for detection of aggressive periodontal disease and its treatment.
