Rate (ml/hr) = Total volume to be Infused (ml) × drop factor ÷ time (hr)

= 1000 × 60 ÷ 8

= 60000 ÷ 8 = 7500/60 = 125 ml

So, 550 ml fluid gone of in 7 hours.

550 ÷ 3 = 183.3 ml . At a moderate rate.

In order to administer the fluid in 183 ml will be the new rate.
