Nurse Manager:

• Nurse manager has been in the hierarchy of an organization.
• She has her own authority and decision making.
• The nurse manager is task oriented.
• Her daily tasks of goal setting, planning of budget, patient care planning, and quality improvement within her department.
• The nurse manager directly supervises the staff and review their performance.
• She is responsible to address the staff issue and to provide guidance and support in time.

Nurse Leader:

• Nurse leader has no delegated authorities.
• No recognized authority within the organization but has influenced by the others.
• Nurse leader is not task-oriented.
• Nurse leader is responsible to fulfill the organization goals, vision, and mission.
• Focus more on patient safety and quality care.
• she must have good interpersonal and leadership skills.
• She must ensure that all staffs should be well standard in their position.
• She will motivate and inspire the entire team.
• She will look after the workflow changes in the organization environment.

Both the nurse manager and nurse leader should have influence and coordinates the team, forward thinking, skills, knowledge to advance their careers in the future.
