1. Mucus which is produced from mucous glands helps to warm,moisten and

filter the air that enters through the nose. Hair like structure called cilia helps to remove debris and microorganisms from the respiratory tract.

2. Surfactant production starts from fetal stages. It produce in between 24 and 28 weeks. By 35 weeks most babies has enough surfactant to prevent collapse of alveoli.

3. Obstructive lung disorder:

* Obstruction of airflow

*Increased airway resistance

*affect expiratory flow

Restrictive lung disorder

*Affect inspiratory flow
