Please no duplicate answers! Why should health plans pursue prevention strategies? Describe a positive or negative experience that you or someone you know has had with this (in other words, you or they were treated for an illness that could have been prevented had the health plan allowed for preventive treatment).

health plans- these are the plans which based on previous knowledge, some research model , reducing risk of any emergency ,secure the people in terms of health and their primary focus is always prevention (primary prevention) and setting goal is always to keep healthy.

prevention strategies are always focus on health educating the community , immunization , screening of the high risk group( old age, pregnanrt women ,child) for any illness

take a example for more understanding like any policy or programme of immunization will stop imediatly by the government  without irradication of that specific disease from the community and  a case of that disease will appear , it directly increases the cost of the secondary prevention(diagnosis and treatment). because the govt dont have accurate data about how many people are immunized or any relapse of the pre-existing case and funds demands will be increase in the health care or in the severe case economy will be down if that diesase become epidemic so that why health plan always based on preventive stategies.

my experiance while treating an illness or serving in health plans/scheme

I was working at a primary health centre as volunteer in a village setting , where we were providing health education to pregnant ,adolscents girls and child bearing mother under the health scheme of ICDS (INTEGRATED CHILD DEVELOPEMENT SCHEME). Me and my colleagues work together to make aware about anemia , mensuration , personal hygeine, malnutrition and basic nutrition recommendation. After doing survey at our level we feel health education will bring change in their faulty behaviour , we took some ANC mother and asessing their health status (with lab value) and find out that they are anemic ,we start educating them and distributing iron supplements under ICDS. After some week their repeat lab test conducted and values are under the normal range. it was very positive experiance and after understing the importance of iron in diet antenatal are doing taking care of them , we usually do visit to take feedback or follow of them.

we do also visit in school for educating adolscents girl regarding , mensuration , personal hygeine and myths related to mensuraion (which is big illness in village setup). it was wonderful experiance to educationg them , clearing their doubts regarding this . so preventive stregies demand healthcare professionals motivation , serving attitute and it directly decreases the risk of any futher emergency .
