Answer #1

we have equation to calculate pH for salt of weak acid

for such salts

pH = 1/2 [pKw + pKa + log C]

pKa = 5.39

pH = 9.2

C = ?

9.2 = 1/2 [14 + 5.39 + log C]

18.4 = 14 + 5.39 + log C

18.4 = 19.39 + log C

- 0.99 = log C

C = 0.102 M

[NaA] = 0.102 M

NaA ---------> Na+ + A-

NaA dissociate completely so

[Na+] = [A-] = 0.102 M

[Na+] = 0.102 M
