Which descriptive statistic is the most informative and the most useful.

Descriptive statistics are ways of summarizing large sets of quantitative information. We generally use Mean, Median, Mode as a measure of central tendency (also called location statistic). For measure of dispersion, we use standard deviation, range, inter-quartile range. These are all descriptive statistics which are commonly used. Among these for central tendency mean is more informative whereas for dispersion, standard deviation is more informative.
